10.24.08 : Kingston’s China-based Distribution Center Selects CMS WorldLink

Transportation management and services provider orientates Shanghai logistics team and carriers to its flagship global trade management application

[ Shanghai, China ] Wil Fekeci, President and CEO of global supply chain transportation and enterprise management provider CMS GlobalSoft, Inc., recently traveled to Shanghai, China to introduce the business value of deploying an integrated logistics solution — like CMS WorldLink — to Kingston Technology’s (Kingston) Shanghai-based distribution center’s logistics team. The meeting also included carrier executives from South China’s UPS®and FedEx®subsidiary locations who expressed interest in learning more about the capabilities, features and benefits of transportation management solutions (TMS).

“Demonstrating how CMS WorldLink reduces costs and increases performance across the organization was well received,” says Fekeci. “Many key points brought up in our talks included the importance of having a global view of transportation costs and easy-to-manage international solution to help dramatically reduce such costs.” Fekeci adds, “The opportunity to share CMS WorldLink’s abilities, including its single interface to Oracle’s JD Edwards Enterprise One application and supporting carrier initiatives WorldEase and FedEx IPD, were other topics that generated high interest.”

As for CMS WorldLink’s future opportunities in Asia’s logistics arena, Fekeci states, “CMS WorldLink made a powerful first impression. The ultimate challenge when introducing a TMS to internationally-based carriers and distribution centers — many of which had never heard of an integrated solution previously — is to realize a robust, enterprise wide TMS is the most quality driven and cost effective way to heighten a supply chain’s shipping efficiencies across the board. I see much promise for CMS WorldLink in this corner of the world and look forward to furthering CMS WorldLink’s visibility in China.”
