The booth is ready, our travel has been booked, giveaways have arrived (Xbox 360 kinect is my personal favorite), and the collateral has been shipped. Now on February 4th CMS GlobalSoft will descend upon Atlanta, GA to exhibit at MODEX, the industry’s newest trade expo for manufacturing, distribution and supply chain industries. In addition, to catching up with partners we look forward to listening to the daily keynotes featuring CSCMP's Rick Blasgen on the state of logistics and supply chain management, Panama Canal CEO Alberto Alemán Zubieta on the impact of the Panama Canal expansion and Georgia Tech's Donald Ratliff on how supply chain and logistics performance impacts trade. But above all we are excited about talking with attendees and getting the chance to show off the upcoming release of WorldLink (Generation Xi). If you’re attending the show, make sure to stop by booth 4128 and get entered into a drawing for the Xbox 360 Kinect. Hope to see you in Atlanta!

</rss:item><rss:item rdf:about="http://www.cmsglobalsoft.com/blog/2011/11/18/user-conference-recap.html"><rss:title>User Conference Recap</rss:title><rss:link>http://www.cmsglobalsoft.com/blog/2011/11/18/user-conference-recap.html</rss:link>

<dc:subject></dc:subject>

In October, more than fifty CMS GlobalSoft’s customers and partners from across the country descended on Las Vegas for two days of learning and networking at the 2011 WorldLink User Conference. The study, Labor Management: Instill Accuracy, Efficiency, and Productivity in the Warehouse and Retail Store, captured data from over 110 companies.

In this tough economy, with cost-containment pressures mandated by company executives (67 percent overall), Aberdeen finds that top performers focus on labor standards, ongoing monitoring, and performance-based incentives to drive down labor costs while still delivering business results. Productivity gains through the extended fulfillment process help warehouse and store managers keep product moving from the warehouse dock through to the retail floor and end customer in an efficient and cost-saving manner.

Employee measurement coupled with incentives and training leads to engagement. "Top companies are leading the way by engaging their employees through both formal on-boarding programs, and implementation of incentives tied to meeting performance goals,” says Bob Heaney, senior research analyst. “Leading performers are achieving practice levels on these two processes of 1.6 to 1.8 times higher than all others combined."

"The only way to ensure that a company's supply chain is able to adapt to continuous business changes fast enough is to establish an adequate level of supply chain intelligence," said Viktoriya Sadlovska, researcher of product value chain and supply chain management at Aberdeen, a co-author of the report. "This requires putting in place processes and tools to effectively monitor supply chain performance and notify specific process managers before problems turn into disruptions."

The study highlights the role of advanced BI technologies in the enablement of supply chain processes. Nari Viswanathan, VP/ principal analyst, supply chain management, a co-author of the report, explains, "The cutting-edge supply chain BI technologies are pervasive and role-based -- they are embedded into the specific supply chain processes and can provide immediate intelligence to the process owners. These capabilities should not only serve as each supply chain's operational 'command and control' center, but also help uncover new revenue and savings opportunities with the help of advanced analytics."
